If I had $100 to spend on Etsy…
By Kitty | January 8, 2009
There are many things that I would buy. But right about now, here are my top picks of what I would buy right this instant if I had $100 to spend on Etsy.
First and foremost is this fantastic bag by infusion. I’ve been eyeing it for weeks, maybe months (so long that the one in my favorites has been sold twice, and I’ve had to cancel, go back to the shop and fav the new listing of the same bag). It’s the Organic Essentia Satchel in Storm Blue. It really will be my next “purse/all purpose bag”… seriously.
According to the listing, the Organic Essential Satchel in Storm Blue is…
I absolutely love the color. (LOVE LOVE the color) I also love that it zips. That way, when I take a sharp turn in the car, the entire contents of my purse won’t fly out all over the floor. I also LOVE that it’s organic. It is made with 100% Organic Cotton canvas in a pretty stormy blue, lined with gray cotton. And yet another thing I love about this bag is the look–the outside seams and pattern make it perfectly appealing in my book! So with my imaginary $100, this bag would be my first purchase, bringing me down to $31 left.
Next, I would buy this reusable canvas lunch tote by justotes. I typically use any suitable bag that’s in our pantry, since I am all about reusing bags. I’ve been using the same old paper gift bag for a long, long time… and it gets a bit grungy. I also fear that my delicious vegan dinner-leftovers-lunch may one day rip through and fall onto the ground. I use pyrex and other reusable containers to bring my food food, but so far I haven’t invested in an actual lunch bag. I think that time is quickly nearing.
This Recycle – Reuse – Reduce Lunch Tote is a sturdy working bag made out of natural 100% 10oz organic cotton canvas. The inside seams are serged for extra strength and the handle connections are reinforced. The top rolls down and closes with a velcro tab. It looks like the bottom is wide enough to fit my big glass pyrex containers, which is a major plus. I also like the recycling logo on the side, which would help me promote the green lifestyle to all my fellow teachers. Now, my imaginary total would be down to $17.
Next, I would buy this awesome brown sea glass bracelet by CreationsbyRobin. Robin is a fellow EtsyNJian, and having seen her stuff in person, I can personally vouch for how great it is. It’s so well crafted, and I just LOVE the look of sea glass jewelry! I’m not a huge bracelet person, or else I would have already purchased one of Robin’s bracelets, but I am prepared to start! I’d start with this one.
I wear a lot of browns and earth tones, so the brown sea glass and complementing pearls would go great with a lot of my outfits. Plus, my watch battery recently broke, which means my wrist feels naked, and probably would enjoy a little dangle. Plus, it’s on sale! So after buying this bracelet, I’d be down to $7 for my imaginary Etsy shopping spree.
Finally, borrowing 50 cents from my loving husband, I would buy this Long Life Yogi Chai tea. I recently discovered wildroot’s shop and I’ve faved a bunch of different teas that look DELICIious… and not only that, they look like they promote good health and well being. I’m ALL about that!
This tea is a delicious immune enhancing treat for your day or evening. There is no caffeine in this delightful tea. Cardamom, Cinnamon and Ginger infuse for a sweet, warming and spicy cup of tea. As the listing says, combine this with enhanced immunity and how could you not indulge in this artisan blend? I agree… you can’t not!
… you must! (love double negatives). The fact that I’m a recently certified yogi makes this a certain choice to wrap up my imaginary shopping spree.
I hope you enjoyed following me along on my fantasy shopping spree, and if you’d like to help make $100 magically appear in my paypal (so that I can spend it on Etsy!), feel free to visit my shop and purchase a few things. Heart of Nature… http://heartofnature.etsy.com or http://heartofnature.1000markets.com Otherwise, I’d definitely recommend any of the above items (as long as the sellers can replenish them so that I can buy them too!) Happy shopping!
